Small Circle Jujitsu

Jujitsu™ is based on classical jujitsu and was founded by Professor Wally Jay. The small circle theory is a proven scientific method and has been accepted by the martial arts world as an acclaimed and accredited system. Professor Wally Jay took traditional jujitsu techniques and refined them to be more efficient and effective. The system he developed focuses on techniques to control an attacker by taking advantage of their weaknesses and mistakes - not fighting their strengths. Small Circle Jujitsu™ uses traditional jujitsu techniques along with pressure points to effectively control an attacker. The result is maximum results through minimum effort. Small Circle Jujitsu™ is constantly evolving under the leadership of Professor Jay's son, Leon Jay, with new and innovative techniques.

Taught by Master Rhodes and Sensei Fish

Isshinryu is a style of karate that originated in Okinawa. Isshinryu (literally translated: One-Heart Way) was introduced in 1954 by Tatsuo Shimabuku. Sensei Shimabuku studied Shorin-Ryu, Goju-Ryu and Kobayashi-Ryu along with Bo, Sai and Tonfa. Isshinryu is a combination of the best of these styles and weapons techniques. Isshinryu is set apart from other styles by its snapping punch which allows for quick transfer of energy into an opponent.

At Bloomington Shizentai Dojo we train in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu and Muso Jikiden Eishinryu Iaido. We train in a variety of skills and students will get experience with ground fighting, throws, locks, weapons, traditional forms, self defense, sparring, and more. Our motto is Traditional Arts Modern Applications. We train in very traditional Japanese arts, but we work hard to make them applicable for today's world. We also participate in leading a Meditation and Qigong class with other instructors at Ryukyu Kyusho Martial Arts.
